The Communication Arts major at Delaware County Community College blends the theoretical with the practical by providing students with a foundation in the study of human communication that prepares them to continue academic study in the field. The Theatre option is designed for students who wish to continue academic study in theatre, acting (for stage or film), directing, and/or technical theatre (lights, sound, set construction, etc.).

The General Studies A.A. degree with an Area of Concentration in Theatre Design and Production is specifically designed for students interested in developing their design skills as a set, lighting, sound, costume, or projection designer.

The Theatre Major is a generalist degree for a student who wants a broad and flexible theatre education experience. Theatre Majors may opt to acquire either a Performance Specialization or a Design/Technology Specialization by selecting additional required or elective courses in each area listed. The specializations are designed to be coupled with the Theatre Core.

Cape Fear Community College’s Associate in Fine Arts in Theatre program allows students to direct the focus of their own theatre education by giving them the choice to study either performance or technical theater.

An introductory course of the history, the performers, the purpose and the perspective of theatre. Students will be introduced to the basic forms of theatre and disciplines involved in producing a play. Emphasis is on defining and experiencing the role of theatre in society.

The Tulsa Community College Theatre program strives to set the standard of excellence for two-year training programs. The theatre program prepares students for transfer to four-year institutions as a theatre major or to pursue other fields, such as education, business management, or communications, among others, with the kind of experience only a theatre program can provide.
