This course has been designed to equip the next generation of critical thinkers to consider the world’s increasingly complex water challenges. Sustainable has been on everyone's lips, at least since 2015, which marked an important year for sustainable finance both because of the (1) Paris Agreement, because of the (2) creation of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Risks (TCFD) and, more anecdotally, because of (3) then Bank of England Governor Mark Carney's seminal speech at Lloyd's London on the tragedy of the horizon’. Yet, which market, regulatory and practical reality does sustainable finance encompass exactly today? Our Sustainable Finance Academy will foster a deep and comprehensive understanding of the global and European regulatory frameworks on sustainable finance .

The three-year degree course in Environment and Sustainable Management of Natural Resources offers a multidisciplinary and integrated approach to topics of great relevance and importance, such as protection of biodiversity, circular economy, ecological transition and sustainable development. The philosophy of the course is to match to the basic cultural education of students, obtained through solid and up-to date preparation in basic biological, geological and chemical-physical subjects, introductory activities to the world of work, through courses aimed at teaching the practical know how of disciplines connected with the monitoring of biodiversity, conservative management of ecosystems, environmental impact assessment, economics circular and the processes of analysis and certification of the sustainability of production processes and the use of natural resources.

After the course, the participant can actively make suggestions for and assess sustainability in their own practice and job function, based on knowledge of the concept of "sustainability". The participant can help to change a process, a product or a service in the company, with a view to developing the company's sustainability goals and areas of action.

Our certificates provide an opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills needed to integrate sustainable management solutions and systems thinking into any industry. It enables students who may already have a graduate degree and/or industry experience to add the language and tools of sustainability to their skill set while becoming a part of a growing global network of sustainability leaders.

The Sustainability Studies program at Corning Community College is designed for students interested in pursuing careers related to environmental sustainability within a large range of professional fields.
