The program of the first week is focused on meat and meat products hygiene and second week includes subjects of milk and milk products hygiene. Practical and theoretical education, laboratory skills, trips to the farms, food companies and slaughterhouse. There is the option to attend only the first or second week of the course

We’ll explore a wide range of topics from the basic functioning of our brains to disordered thought processes and conflicting behaviours.

Whether from the sharp bite of a stubbed toe, the dull throb of an aching muscle, or progressive disease discomfort, pain acts as a natural defense mechanism to protect both humans and animals. It is critical for survival. Pain also serves as a warning against repetitive, harmful behaviors. It's a signal to seek attention and relief since uncontrolled pain can have chronic and debilitating consequences. This course introduces basic pain concepts, pain pathways, and their underlying neurobiology. Topics will incorporate diagnosis, symptoms and presentation, and treatment using pain experts across the medical field-- such as physicians, veterinarians, dentists, and pharmacists. The course will introduce scientists and clinical researchers, and highlight their work.

Introduction to principles of systemic mammalian physiology with special reference to humans. Students must register for two sections: lecture and laboratory. Effective Fall 2019, this course fulfills a single unit in the following BU Hub areas: Scientific Inquiry II, Writing-Intensive Course, Critical Thinking, and Teamwork/Collaboration.

The IEEE-EMBS International Summer School on Advanced Data Analytics in Physiology is organized by the IEEE EMBS Technical Community on Biomedical Signal Processing and the IEEE EMBS Technical Community on Cardiopulmonary Systems and Physiology-based Engineering.

The course begins with an introduction to Computational Psychology and Artificial Intelligence, exploring the ways in which process-based computational models may be used to represent the workings of the human brain, employing algorithms to simulate aspects of cognition and predict behavior. We shall then turn to how such models correlate with neurobiology, the actual network of cells and signals which constitutes the brain, investigating neuron models, how neural networks perform computations, and neuropsychological theories of learning.

This Summer Course in Unlocking the Mysteries of Neurodegenerative Diseases: Advances in Research, Diagnosis, and Care will give the students insight into different aspects of neurodegenerative diseases of the brain such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and Multiple Sclerosis: from molecules to brain, and from cells to the clinic.

Students will learn about the key processes governing global health policy and explore topics such as infectious diseases, epidemics and pandemics, humanitarian health, and the impact of climate change on population health.

This unit will enable students to develop essential knowledge and understanding of the key concepts of biology, gain an appreciation of topical issues, and develop an awareness of scientific methods.
