Introduction

Los Angeles College of Music (LACM) prepares students to be leaders in music and offers Bachelor’s and Associate’s degrees and Diploma programs in Music Performance, Music Production, Songwriting, Composing for Visual Media and Music Business. Located in the heart of the music and entertainment industries, the faculty is comprised of current leading music professionals with a passion for inspiring the next generation. The college offers a significant number of real-world playing situations with professional musicians, not just peers, making it one of the top music schools today. The student body is comprised of talented students from around the world who partner together in an intimate and supportive environment to learn to create, record, perform and market groundbreaking music in today’s competitive music industry. (Formerly known as LAMA, The Los Angeles Music Academy.) LACM is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). LA College of Music was recently named one of “The 20 Best Music Conservatories in the U.S.” by TheBestSchools.org. The ranking website listed LACM as number 16, above Bard College Conservatory of Music, McNally Smith, Colburn Conservatory of Music and Musicians Institute. Of the contemporary music programs listed on the rankings, LACM ranks #1 on the West Coast.
