What is this course about

This course helps students to develop fluency and confidence in dealing with everyday situations.

It is flexible and can cater to the individual academic needs of students.

We give students the opportunity to use English in meaningful tasks through interactions with classmates and teachers.

Listening, reading, writing, and speaking are developed through various engaging tasks and activities.

A wide range of resources including textbooks, authentic texts, audio and audio-visual materials are used.

Grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation tasks are tailored according to students’ needs at each level of proficiency.

We encourage students to learn about Australian culture firsthand through exposure to the local culture and cultural events.

At the end of the course

Student’ progress is regularly monitored by teachers.

Average students usually progress to the next level of proficiency after 12 weeks of the course., according to Cambridge. At FOCUS our students are tested every 6 weeks, giving them a chance to improve faster!

We strongly encourage students to take responsibility for reviewing the lessons covered in class and to ask for help from their teachers at any time.

The General English course is topic-based which helps make learning more interactive and practical to everyday situations.

By the end of this course, successful students will have improved their listening, reading, writing and speaking skills.

At the completion of the program, students are awarded a certificate of completion and a written report.
