Introduction
The Mechatronics Technology program provides skills and knowledge in five major areas: computer programming, electrical systems, mechanical systems, robotics, and additive manufacturing (3D printing). Mechatronics technicians assist the design, development, and engineering staff and work closely with others to install, maintain, modify and repair mechatronic systems, equipment, and parts. Students can pursue specializations through restricted electives. This technical training is relevant to several industries, including the petrochemical sector, process technology, energy, manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics. Students who pursue this degree benefit from a technical core set of courses that combine an industry-recognized certification and quality college education.
Typical job titles can include advanced manufacturing technicians, systems integration, electrical and instrumentation technicians, robotics and automation technicians, electromechanical, process control, industrial maintenance, field automation, and supply chain technicians. This associate degree program may provide students with opportunities to pursue supervisory positions in the above fields.
