Fanshawe's Mechanical Engineering Technician program is a one-year Ontario College Diploma offered at the campus in St. Thomas that provides practical, hands-on experience to educate you on highly specialized machines. Today’s machines are highly specialized and technologically advanced. They require specialized and dynamic technicians to make sure they run properly and to ensure the job gets done.

This program is designed to prepare the student for a career in a wide range of industries including product and industrial design firms and fabrication and manufacturing companies. Students are introduced to product development from design through prototyping and fabrication for manufacturing.

TCC’s Associate of Science in Civil and Mechanical Engineering Degree is a state-recognized Major Related Program (MRP) designed to provide a Pathway for students who plan to transfer to a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. Students planning to transfer to Environmental, Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering should also follow this Pathway. Industrial Engineers design processes to improve efficiency by coordinating resources in production.

The 2025 edition of the Summer School Enabling Technologies for Industrial Internet of Things (ET-I2oT 2025) is organized to provide 6 ECTS (about 52 hours of front lessons) in the fields of Electronics, RFID, Sensors, Networking, Web of Things, SW for IoT, Computer Engineering, targeting on one side an audience of Bachelor (last year), Master and PhD students, and on the other side early stage researchers and practitioners from Academia or Industry. Both HW and SW aspects of IoT will be presented and discussed during the school.

The Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Technology degree program is designed to enable graduates to enter various fields of the industry after completing two years of study. Graduates may also elect to continue their education in the four-year Industrial Technology Program. Graduates of the two-year curriculum will be awarded the degree of Associate of Applied Science.

Industrial Maintenance-Millwright Technology prepares students for work in industrial mills. This is a multi-skilled trade that uses areas of fabrication, electronics, electrical systems, automation, computers, hydraulics, PLCs, and mechanical systems. Conveyor systems, power distribution, and service to all sorts of automated equipment are taught. Rigging, mechanical drive systems, installation and alignment of equipment, and pumps are taught. The Millwright program is designed to prepare graduates for entry-level employment as apprentice technicians, with emphasis on practical experience in both theory and laboratory settings using lab equipment and assemblies similar to equipment found in the industry.

The Associate in Science in CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machining program, prepares students for entry-level positions in CNC Machining or to pursue a baccalaureate degree.

The Diploma promotes applicative and experiential technical training to operate biomass energy and process industries. Through what has been acquired, participants will value qualified skills to operate biomass energy and process industries, whose skills and talents will be very useful for the achievement of innovation, efficiency, and sustainability of industrial technology. This Diploma is made up of two courses that promote applicative and experiential technical knowledge for those who need to incorporate the knowledge that is needed in the workplace of the Biomass industry.
