The Paris Agreement and new IMO regulations on air pollution along with IMO GHG strategy mean that a significant reduction in GHG emissions is necessary over the coming decades.

The post-baccalaureate program in Offshore Wind Energy Engineering provides a pathway for students from other disciplines to pursue the MS and/or Ph.D. degree program at Tufts. Students enroll in graduate-level courses alongside other engineering students to learn the core concepts of the industry. Credits earned may be transferred to the MS and/or Ph.D. program in Offshore Wind Energy Engineering at Tufts. Students in the Offshore Wind Energy Engineering program receive world-class training in wind policy, technical applications, and project management to prepare them for jobs in the global industry, academia, and the public sector.

Renewable Energies Technician (Co-op) is a two-year Ontario College Diploma where students will learn the fundamental knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical disciplines within this industry. This program will cover the design and installation of renewable energy solutions such as solar energy, wind turbines, biomass energy and geothermal energy systems. Graduates will leave with in-depth knowledge in installation, commissioning and routine maintenance of energy systems.

The Energy Storage Integration - Vehicles, Renewables, and the Grid course will describe the background of existing energy storage solutions on the electric grid and in vehicles with a primary focus on batteries and electrochemical storage. It will discuss the operating characteristics, cost, and efficiency of these technologies and how tradeoff decisions can be made.

This e-learning course is developed and implemented jointly with the Frankfurt School - UNEP Collaborating Cente. The Paris Agreement marks the beginning of a new era with the focus shifting from finding a consensus on the common goals to realizing jointly agreed goals. “Making finance flows consistent with a pathway towards low greenhouse gas emissions and climate-resilient development” (Article 2 c of the Paris Agreement) will require a significant increase in funding – with new instruments and approaches required to mobilize a broad range of investors and to achieve scalability in financing climate action. Financing the global energy transition will be one key building block. Decreasing prices for renewables combined with increasing regulatory risk for traditional fossil fuels make Renewable Energy (RE) more competitive and attractive for commercial investors.

In this program, you’ll learn to maintain, test, repair, and/or replace complex electrical systems and controls found in modern industrial plants and large commercial buildings. The program includes hands-on training in motors, generators, robotics, power distribution, and other electrical systems.

This Summer School offers 6 ECTS credits through the delivering of 52-hour lectures. Attendees will get an introduction to EM fundamentals and then they will learn how to apply those to the design and implementation of future communication systems, radars, wireless sensing systems, wireless networks and high-frequency circuits.

This course focuses on the theory and practice of Leadership. It is designed to enable students to understand the foundational concepts and develop the analytical skills needed to be effective leaders in the Oil, Gas and Energy industry. Students will explore their own leadership, personality, and cognitive styles and learn how these may affect the performance of others. The course will focus on experiential projects and exercises as well as provide opportunities to individually reflect and write about the concepts explored and skills gained throughout the course.

With a strong recovery post-pandemic, the tanker market is set to benefit from the global scenario of sanctions and high demand for oil. To supply this demand, oil and gas companies need to transport their materials efficiently across the globe and, therefore, tanker chartering becomes a crucial part of the supply chain. In order to control costs, chartering has to be done effectively.

You will learn how to design photovoltaic (PV) systems for the conversion of solar energy into useful electrical energy for both stand-alone and grid-connected systems. You will also study solar radiation and its geometry to be able to extract the maximum energy out of solar radiation at a given location. The comprehensive course material also covers solar thermal devices.

The A.S. Degree in Environmental Horticulture with an emphasis in Nursery and Greenhouse Technology, prepares the student for professional work in the nursery and greenhouse plant production field by equipping them with skills in plant propagation, greenhouse design and small business skills. Environmental Horticulture (EH) teaches students the skills and knowledge required for success in the professions of landscape maintenance, landscape design, permaculture, nursery and greenhouse work, and ecological restoration. The program encourages professional standards, a strong work ethic and environmentally sound practices.
