For one month each year, 15 selected participants co-direct a series of 3-5 minute documentaries with OTOXO Productions. These shorts are distributed to festivals & media outlets around the world and streamed on the OTOXO platform. For these reasons alone we demand the highest quality of work from our participants and provide them with the highest quality of training to ensure it.

The Graduate Certificate of Screen Arts and Production: Documentary is a chance to attain a short and targeted post-graduate qualification for students wishing to deepen, enhance or reframe their skills as a present or future drama practitioner in the screen industries. In this three-subject course, students complete one core subject focused on documentary screen storytelling and complement it with two out of six production-focused electives to round out their experience. The Graduate Certificate in Screen Arts and Production: Documentary is a stand-alone course that can be taken full-time or part-time. It is also a pathway into the Master of Screen Arts and Production, should students wish to keep studying.

The Documentary Film Program at Prague Film School aims at creating an independent documentary filmmaker. Through intensive practical and theoretical work, each student learns how to adapt the narrative tools of drama to tell truthful stories about the real world that simultaneously entertain, educate, and inspire audiences. The course is designed to develop professional-level production and post-production skills.

Each year, 15 individuals are given the opportunity to co-direct a 30-minute documentary with OTOXO Productions to be screened on BTV. Simultaneously, participants are provided with an intensive nine-month training course covering all elements of documentary studies and production. Following this, the participants are given three months of training focused on becoming film industry professionals, whilst at the same time, they follow these steps and become film industry professionals in their own right.

With participation from The New York Times Op-Docs, this course gives developing storytellers the tools they need to complete a short film. Students will explore documentary styles, the language of film production, and the legal and ethical considerations involved in chronicling the lives of their subjects. DFW includes readings, pre-recorded video lectures, self-prep exercises, and screenings of classic and modern films. The course culminates with each student making a 3-5 minute digital doc. Students can book two one-on-one sessions with the instructor, and schedule time with their classmates to view work and provide feedback.
