The Associate of Arts in Teaching (A.A.T.) degree is a Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) approved collegiate degree program consisting of lower-division courses intended for transfer to baccalaureate programs that lead to initial Texas teacher certification. Each A.A.T. degree consists of the Core Curriculum selected by Dallas College and additional coursework required for the specific certification sought.

The Associate in Arts in Social Work and Human Services for Transfer is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution as Social Work and Human Services majors. In this program, the students gain exposure to the field of social and human service work. Students who successfully complete the AA-T in Social Work and Human Services earn specific guarantees for transfer to the CSU system: admission to a CSU with junior status and priority admission to a local CSU campus and to a program or major in Social Work and Human Service or a similar major.

The Communication Studies (CMST) emphasis of the Associate of Arts (DTA) degree prepares students for the challenges of a world that are shaped by communication that is rich with intercultural exchange. Students specializing in Communication Studies examine and produce work in oral, written, media, and visual communication and practice critical skills in groups and one-on-one settings.

The Associate in Arts in Psychology for Transfer (AA-T) The Associate in Arts in Psychology for Transfer (AA-T in Psychology) is designed to provide a clear pathway to a CSU institution for students who plan to transfer and complete a CSU major or baccalaureate degree in Psychology. Psychology concerns itself with the study of human and animal behavior. This program provides students training both in pure science and in the practical application of science to matters of everyday life. This program is designed for students who seek to learn to examine psychological processes from multiple perspectives and to apply psychological principles and methods to personal and social issues in ways that promote self-understanding, personal development, and effective interpersonal relationships as members of a diverse society.

The Social Work Associate in Arts curriculum was developed to meet the needs of current and prospective students interested in transferring to a college or university and eventually earning a Bachelor in Social Work degree. The curriculum provides students with introductory-level knowledge in the field of social work study and supports a seamless transfer to the junior-level status at a four-year college or university offering a Council of Social Work Education-Accredited Bachelor in Social Work degree (BSW).

The Media Arts program is a unique, interdisciplinary approach to the converging fields of journalism, communication, and new media technology.
