You’ll be ready for a career in precision agriculture, cropping systems, fertilizer, integrated pest management, farm management, and farm supply areas of agriculture with the Agribusiness/Science Technology – Agronomy degree. Through hands-on learning, you’ll gain skills in integrated pest management, marketing, soil science, nutrient management, crop production, agronomy equipment, Geographic Information Systems/Global Positioning Systems (GIS/GPS) technology, and computers, as well as sales and agribusiness. This program will open doors to a variety of agribusiness careers.

The Agriculture Technology Diploma program is designed to provide students with the skills, aptitudes, and knowledge necessary to enter fields related to general agriculture. The program may be completed in two semesters by following the suggested curriculum, or it may be spread over three or more semesters.

At the Faculty of Agronomy we deal with modern agricultural production, including precision agriculture, plant breeding, food technology, applied technology, improving the effectiveness of cancer treatment, topics related to ecology and climate change, and other topical issues. The study will interest you not only with its focus but also with its rich practical teaching. 

Purdue’s Agronomy Department provides global leadership in plant genetics, plant physiology, meteorology, and soil and water sciences, enhancing the quality of life through discovery, education and engagement.Agronomic Business and Marketing prepares students to meet the high demand for professionals in technical sales and marketing or professional field agronomy with strength in business. Crop and Soil Management is for students interested in applying basic agronomic information to practical situations or problems.

This entry-level qualification provides individuals with the opportunity to develop a general vocational outcome in agriculture.

The Diploma of Production Horticulture course reflects the role of personnel working on production horticulture farms.

Agricultural Science involves the study of the science and technology underlying the principles and practices of agriculture.

Food production in the U.S. is undergoing vast changes. At the same time global markets are opening up to American agricultural products. With increasing diversity in the American population and with greater emphasis on health and nutrition, consumers are making new demands on agriculture.

The Agronomy Certificate is offered to help producers or aspiring agriculturalists learn skills and techniques that will help them become successful agriculturalists in the areas of crops and soils. This certificate may be of interest if you want to be more involved with agriculture and enjoy working outside with your hands.

The Associate of Science in Agriculture is a transfer degree for the student who plans to major in an agricultural related field. Northark has agreements with the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and with Arkansas Tech University to offer students seamless options for transfer into specified agriculture majors or concentrations using the AS in Agriculture degree, but the degree can also serve as a foundation for students who plan to transfer elsewhere.

The Horticulture Technology curriculum is designed to prepare individuals for various careers in horticulture. Classroom instruction and practical laboratory applications of horticultural principles and practices are included in the program of study.

Allen’s Agribusiness program prepares students for successful transfer to university agricultural programs by providing foundational knowledge and experience in agriculture and business.

This option provides career preparation in the skills needed to work in horticultural related service industries and wholesale and retail sales of horticultural products.

The Agri-Business A.A.S. program is designed to provide technical and business training for established local business enterprises and to increase their profitability and expand their customer base outside of the greater Jefferson-Lewis County areas with educated and well-trained staff.
