Introduction

Transform your previous experience into qualifications and build first-level management skills with this course delivered part-time to allow you to continue working while you upskill. This course contributes to professional, ethical, social and culturally responsive Māori leadership. You’ll learn through wānanga to build the skills you need to contribute to Māori cultural, educational and economic aspirations. As a graduate of this programme, you’ll be equipped to fulfil a range of kaupapa Māori based governance roles.
Students will gain a sound foundation of understanding the overall aspects of Governance. Specifically, this course will enable an understanding of the key concepts of interconnectedness from a holistic Māori world view, further skills and strategies that relate to communications and relationships, such as understanding the different types of relationships and stakeholders.
