The Foundation programme at AIMST University is tailored to provide a multitude of opportunities for you to pursue a career of your dreams. The programme equips the students with adequate academic knowledge and skills needed for success at AIMST and beyond. To ensure a high quality programme, the School has an advisory panel comprising of selected faculty members and external experts to assist in its curriculum development and the formal assessment of its courses. At AIMST, we acknowledge that the most able students are those who have developed a good command of the English language and communication. In recognition of this, we place emphasis on the use of English as the medium of instruction aiming to produce students who are fluent and confident. The foundation programme has three annual intakes commencing in March, April and July. On successful completion of the foundation programme, you may choose from the following undergraduate courses depending on your academic performance and interest.

Programme Details

Foundation in Business programme is designed for students who want to study Business and Management related studies for an undergraduate degree at AIMST University. It is a comprehensive course comprising 3 semesters. A distinguishing feature of the programme include developing an extensive subject knowledge in key elements in fundamentals of business administration, accounting, principals of economics as well as management information system thus, creating a solid platform to enable you to make a more informed choice in your career path at the undergraduate level. Students who have completed our three semester programme would have received a focused guidance from our experienced teaching staffs when they begin the next phase of their studies. Upon successful completion of the foundation in business programme, students are eligible for entry into the various programmes available at AIMST University.

Entry Requirement
Foundation in Business

  • Minimum 5C’s in SPM including English and 4 other subjects.

COURSE ASSESSMENT
Assessment comprises two components:
Coursework - 30%
Final Examination - 70%

The continuous course work component comprises different assessments such as assignments, presentations, midterm tests and projects assigned throughout each semester. The final examination is conducted at the end of each semester.

Above all these, we have a strong team of support staff to ensure efficient and up-to-date learning facilities such as computer laboratories and a fast-growing library of books, journals and other resources for information retrieval. Our International Office is a one-stop centre catering to enquiries from international students, as AIMST University opens its door to students from the region and the rest of the world. With the services and facilities provided, we hope to create a cosy home-away-from-home environment for all our students and to provide the right atmosphere so that they can experience a lively, exciting and productive university life.

Financial Aid

The Student Affairs Division assists students in obtaining financial aid for their courses through a number of agencies. Students may apply for the National Higher Education Student Loan Scheme (Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional - PTPTN) upon enrolment to a degree programme at AIMST, provided they possess a minimum of three credits in their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).

AIMST offers students with excellent performance in the SPM discounts on tuition fees upon enrolment in our Foundation programmes. The discount rate is based on the number of A’s obtained and could be as high as 70% of their tuition fees.
