This course is intended for students wishing to enrol on a three-year honours degree programme in Cardiff School of Management (CSM), who fall into one of the following categories:
1. Students who have not achieved the required A-level (or equivalent) points score.
2. Mature students who have been out of the formal education system for some time.
The foundation year will include the study of the following areas:
- Academic Skills
- Information Technology
- Quantitative Methods
- Business and Management Studies
Learning & Teaching
A variety of teaching delivery methods are used in this course including, lectures, group work, seminars and workshops. You will study six modules. Each module will have 48 hours of timetabled hours (contact time) and 152 hours for self-study/ independent learning time.
Independent learning is supported by our virtual learning environment (Moodle). Further support is available from your Module leader/seminar tutor, programme director, year tutor and the personal tutoring team

Entry Requirements & How to Apply
Applicants will preferably have a minimum of five GCSE passes including English Language and Mathematics* at grade C or above (grade 4 or above for applicants holding newly reformed GCSEs in England) and 32 UCAS Tariff Points from at least 1 A level (or equivalent).
*For Welsh applicants sitting the reformed Mathematics GCSE, we will accept either GCSE Mathematics or Mathematics – Numeracy.
