We offer a large range of printmaking courses in London at our Chelsea Centre located just off the King's Road.
We have beginners, intermediate and advanced courses. These are part-time courses running during the day and evening.
Our lecturers are highly experienced printmaking practitioners offering a unique insight into the printmaking discipline.
The techniques you learn will offer exciting ways to build on your skills and reinterpret existing artwork in print form. The unique characteristics of printmaking will open up a new world of image making and unlock your creative potential. Many of our experienced students came as beginners and many have developed a long-term commitment continuing at degree and MA level and also set up their own studio.
Many students say printmaking is addictive once you start! So why not come and try one of our courses.
This is a structured course for those who would like to explore the potential and possibilities of conventional printmaking mediums, such as monoprint, drypoint, etching, aquatint etc. Beginners are welcome Studio fee £20 per term.
We are a well-resourced department and have a well-equipped print room. You do not need to source your plates or paper for the course, we have large stocks of different materials which you can purchase from us in small quantities.
The studio has excellent light and has specialist facilities for all the intaglio techniques and includes:
- 2 Rochat presses, bed size 26″x48″
- 1 relief press for linocuts, bed size 16”x20”
- A UV light exposure unit for transferring images to plates
- A3 flatbed scanner to digitise something you have drawn or photographed Mac and PC computers using Photoshop for post-production work on images you have shot or scanned in (drawing or photographs)
