The products are so varied that they range from active biomolecules with therapeutic capacity for the development of new medicines, food and functional ingredients, products for the dermocosmetic industry, aquaculture, animal feed, biofertilizers, biostimulants, to low value products such as chemical products. bulk, biofuels. Microalgae are also being used in the treatment of wastewater, and lip-absorption of greenhouse gases. However, the global productive capacity of microalgae barely reaches 20,000 tons / year, and its availability in the markets is very low, with relatively high biomass production prices. Marine ecosystems of the ETP provide a baseline source for sharks and rays species of high commercial interest in satisfying human demand for national and international food.
