Because?

Lead the student to the design of spaces where the interaction between light and material drives the design process and construction of the project. Light will be the structuring element of the rhythm, the space system and the atmosphere of the spaces.

For whom?

The course is aimed at those who are seeking to stand out as space designers: architects, designers, lighting designers, set designers, from a more educated look to light and a consistent creative process. The selection process includes portfolio review.

How is it?

In coherence with the MADEIN methodology, the course develops from a phenomenological approach, focused on processes of thought and creation that allow the learning of space design rooted in human and sensorial aspects.

"Architecture first appears when sunlight strikes a wall. Sunlight did not know what it was until it hit a wall. "

Louis Kahn

Marketplace

In coherence with the MADEIN methodology, the course develops from a phenomenological approach, focused on processes of thought and creation that allow the learning of space design rooted in human and sensorial aspects.

The course is aimed at experienced professionals, who seek to expand and deepen creative capacities with the potential to make their projects full of meaning and purpose, standing out in the market.

The student will expand and deepen creative capacities with the potential to make their projects full of meaning and purpose, standing out in the market.

The Course Space, Matter and Light

From the in-depth and empirical study of the behavior of natural and artificial light in space, and using the MADEIN methodology (developed by the architect Josep Ferrando), the student will develop the ability to think multi-sensorial spaces, innovative and surprising.

The application of the MADEIN methodology in this course emphasizes the material that gives rise to the perception of all architectural forms in space: the Light .

Course content

Module 01 | Rationale of the Maiden Methodology (12h)

This module will be directed to the knowledge and experimentation of the processes and ways of looking at and thinking the design of spaces from the MADEIN methodology.

Students who have already taken the Masters in Space Design - Madein methodology may be exempted from attending the 12 introductory hours.

Module 02 | Matter and Light (48h)

In this module will be introduced the subject matter and light. The creative and innovative potentialities of the visual approach of light as primary and secondary matter in the construction of spaces will be explored.

From practical exercises and the deep and empirical study of the behavior of natural and artificial light in space; of the theoretical discussion considering the place of the designer in the conception of the mystical spaces; and, from the case studies presented, the students will be led to the process of creating a multisensory, multidisciplinary, innovative and surprising space.
