Program Description

For international students who wish to spend one or two semesters in Barcelona, the University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia offers elective courses in the fields of business, design, and innovation. On completion, students receive a UVic-UCC certificate with academic credits that their home university may recognize. These courses are strongly oriented towards practice but they also cover the basic theory needed to work on real case studies. Professionals from the world of business and design are invited to some of the course sessions.

The program includes a variety of courses (a minimum of four) from which students can choose to design their own pathway.

Aimed at

The Study Abroad Program Business, Design & Innovation is aimed at undergraduate students or university graduates who wish to spend 15 weeks in Barcelona getting an insight into innovative business projects in the European Capital of Design.


The academic calendar 2020-2021

  • Term 1 (Fall): 14 weeks from 6th  September 2021 to 16th December 2021
  • Application deadline: 28th June 2021
  • Term 2 (Spring): not available 
  • Application deadline: closed 


All courses last for a semester (14 weeks), each with a total of 45 contact hours (6 European credits).

It is required to choose a minimum of 4 courses each academic semester. 

General admission requirements

For acceptance on a Study Abroad programme you need to:

  • Talk to your Academic Coordinator or International Office at home university
  • Be currently enrolled at a higher education institution or be a university graduate
  • Have sufficient ability in the program’s language of instruction (Level B2 for courses taught in English)

You should submit the following documents:

  • Your passport
  • A certificate showing that you are currently enrolled at a higher education institution or that you hold a university degree
  • A certificate of English (not required for students whose mother tongue is English)
  • Proof of medical and accident insurance cover
  • Fill in the Application form. Please send the application to including the documents mentioned above.
