Advanced English Studies Program (ASP)
The Advanced English Studies program offers students the opportunity to enhance the academic English skills developed through the Intensive English courses, with the addition of advanced activities, practice, video and computer exercises. As a part of their training, students will attend topical seminars that address successful acclamation, job readiness, immigration law and procedures, history, culture, business, healthcare, and other areas. The Advanced English Studies program is meant to serve students who are on a university track and wish to acquire an appropriate mix of academic and functional English, as well as those wishing to gain everyday English skills in order to fit more easily into English speaking society.
The outcomes of each level are designed to meet these objectives.
To apply, students must have a high school diploma or its equivalent and be at least 16 years of age. Under certain circumstances, an applicant under the age of 16, or who has not graduated from high school may be considered for enrollment with approval of college administration.

Program Quick Facts
ESL students are required to take a placement test which assesses the student’s ability in Listening, Written Structures, and Speaking. They are then placed into the appropriate level based upon placement test results. Students are eligible to begin a class based on initial placement test results or successful completion of the previous level.
