Course Overview

Are you interested in the luxury industry? Want to gain in-depth knowledge of Made in Italy, one of the most important fashion brands across the globe?

Accademia del Lusso's 10-week course in Made In Italy & The Luxury Goods Industry closely examines the strategies used by famous Italian luxury businesses and analyses the branding, communication, and merchandising plans these brands put into place in order to improve the value and boost success.

Taught by expert working professionals who offer exclusive insider knowledge and tips, the course successfully combines theory with practice to offer a truly authentic experience. You’ll attend dynamic classroom lessons which examine relevant case studies and offer realistic practical exercises; you’ll take part in field trips to essential fashion and luxury locations in Milan, and you’ll have the chance to consolidate all that you’ve learned through authentic project work based on real fashion company orders.

Course Specifications

  • Lessons are held between 10am – 1pm and between 2pm – 5pm
  • The course duration is 150 hours over 10 weeks, so it is not a full-time course
  • Taught in English

Course Contents

Lectures

New Product Development & Merchandising
Through this module, you’ll analyze the strategies behind planning new products and developing successful merchandising plans within the fashion & luxury industry. There will be a particular focus on leather accessories, which constitute a fundamental part of top luxury production in Italy.

Branding & Communication 4.0
The Branding & Communication 4.0 module looks at the importance of brand experience in the luxury field and explores how to communicate brand identity efficiently through new media channels.

Made In Italy & Luxury Goods System
This module offers an in-depth study of the success and value of Made in Italy by examining its key players.

Field Trips

Guided visits to key locations within the luxury fashion industry in Milan, including:

  • Montenapoleone area
  • Tortona area
  • Gae Aulenti area
  • Museums and exhibitions
  • Showrooms

Project Weeks

One-week periods during which you’ll complete group project work according to a precise brief, presenting the finished work to a committee.
